Terms of service

The service

lolwuz.nl provides tools for investigating domain names: DNS, certificates, mail configuration, registration data and related checks. The service is offered free of charge.

We may add, change or discontinue features. Where possible we announce significant changes in advance.

Account

Some features require an account. You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email address; keep access to that address secure, because it grants access to your account.

You are responsible for what happens under your account. If your account belongs to an organisation, its administrators can manage that organisation's shared content.

Acceptable use

Use the service to investigate domains you administer, work on, or whose data is public and which you have a legitimate reason to inspect.

• Do not use the service to attack, overload or gain unauthorised access to systems.
• Do not circumvent limits or automate requests at a scale that degrades the service for others.
• Do not use the service to collect personal data you have no basis to collect.
• Do not use the mail tester to send unsolicited messages or to intercept other people's mail.
• Do not share content that is unlawful or infringes the rights of others.

Limits

To keep the service usable for everyone, usage limits apply per account or per IP address. Persistent overuse or abuse may lead us to restrict or end access.

Specific features

• Mail tester: messages sent to a test address are stored in full until shortly after the test expires. Do not send confidential or personal data to it.
• Secret links: content is encrypted at rest and can be retrieved once. It is a convenient way to hand something over briefly, not a replacement for a password manager.
• AI diagnosis: the output is an aid, not a certainty. Verify its conclusions before acting on them.
• Slack alerts: if you pick a public channel, the alert is visible to everyone in it. You choose that channel.
• Shared reports: a shareable report link is accessible to anyone holding the link.

Accuracy

Results reflect what public sources return at that moment: resolvers, registries, web servers and certificates. Those sources can be incomplete, stale or contradictory, and answers can differ by location.

Treat results as an aid to your own judgement, not as the sole basis for a decision.

Availability

The service is provided as is, without warranty of availability, accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. Maintenance, supplier outages and limits imposed by external sources may interrupt it.

Your content

Notes, snippets and documents you create remain yours or your organisation's. We use them to provide the service and for nothing else.

The service itself, its name and its design remain ours.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, lost revenue or loss of data arising from use of the service.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or wilful recklessness, or any other liability that may not be excluded. Mandatory consumer law continues to apply in full.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time under Account → Profile, which also removes the data attached to it.

We may restrict or end access in cases of abuse, use that harms the service for others, or where we are legally required to do so.

Changes

We may amend these terms. The date above shows when that last happened. Continuing to use the service after a change means the new version applies.

Governing law

Dutch law applies to these terms. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory law designates another court.
